It is not only outright lying that is abhorrent to Me; it is also the half-truths and spreading of rumors that cause destruction and are prevalent among My people. Notice how Eve and then Adam blame-shifted when confronted with their sin. For self-deception is where many are trapped. It is not just lying to others; it is lying to oneself. Then the ultimate step into deception is lying to Me.
When you justify your words by your standards, you stray from the truth. For I have said to walk in the light. What is the light, but My word and My Spirit that guides and directs your steps? Therefore, do not be wise in your own eyes, but allow My searchlight to always examine your heart. For My ways are perfect and they bring life. A lying tongue brings death to all who eat its fruit.
Remember your adversary is a liar and thief, the father of lies. Do not act like him but imitate your Father in heaven. For I sent My Son that you may have life and life everlasting. He is the way, the truth and the life. Therefore, walk in the truth and be a life-giver.
