STEP OUT OF THE BOAT

Do you want to walk on water? Then you, too, must step out of the boat. You must step out into the turbulent waters of life if you want to have the adventure that you have asked Me for. How can you test your wings if you never take a risk to fly?

Do you fear failure? Or do you fear success? If your eyes are on either, then you have taken your eyes off of Me. Do you remember what happened to Peter when he looked at the waves? He panicked and fell into the water. Yes, even though you may fall, I can rescue you.

Do you really believe that you can walk on water? For if I command you to, you can do it. Do you want to go on the greatest adventure of a lifetime? Then step out of the boat. Come out of your comfort zone and discover real life as you let Me live through you.

For in Me you live, and move, and have your being. It is about Me, and I am tired of the boat. We will step out together. Let My Spirit take you higher in Me, for I have wonderful plans for your life in Christ. Step out of the boat, My child. You can trust Me to catch you if you fall.

Matthew 14:25-33 Contemporary English Version (CEV)

25 A little while before morning, Jesus came walking on the water toward his disciples. 26 When they saw him, they thought he was a ghost. They were terrified and started screaming.

27 At once, Jesus said to them, “Don’t worry! I am Jesus. Don’t be afraid.”

28 Peter replied, “Lord, if it is really you, tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come on!” Jesus said. Peter then got out of the boat and started walking on the water toward him.

30 But when Peter saw how strong the wind was, he was afraid and started sinking. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

31 Right away, Jesus reached out his hand. He helped Peter up and said, “You surely don’t have much faith. Why do you doubt?”

32 When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died down. 33 The men in the boat worshiped Jesus and said, “You really are the Son of God!”
