Your enemy wants to steal your hope. When hope is deferred, the heart grows sick. When you are sick, you do not tend to think rationally. You begin to think and believe the worst. I am not holding out on you. Instead I am using these trials to allow you to grow in your faith. You must lay everything on the altar, including your life.
Be like Esther, who realized the seriousness of her situation and declared "If I perish, I perish". She trusted Me as she approached the king to make her request. Even he, an earthly king, was willing to grant her request.
I am the great King, and I love you with an everlasting love. I long to give you good gifts, however, I do not want the gifts to destroy you. Your character is of foremost concern to Me. The enemy knows that pride was his downfall and so he uses it against My people.
Align your desires with My will. It is not wrong to ask for things in the natural, for I know what you have need of before you even ask. Answers are on the way, so remain in an attitude of thanksgiving, and be a blessing to others as you patiently wait.
Proverbs 13:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
Isaiah 7:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
“Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God [one that will convince you that God has spoken and will keep His word]; make your request as deep as Sheol or as high as heaven.”
1 Kings 3:5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God said, “Ask [Me] what I shall give you.”
James 1:17 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].
