LEGALISM

You must guard your heart against the leaven of the pharisees. Seek to be guided by love, not duty. Spend time seeking Me, just to know Me and to love Me. Let Me fill you with My love and give you My perspective on what is happening around you. Then as you go throughout your day, you are more attuned to My heartbeat.

I always bless a heart that seeks to please Me. You are in training, so give yourself, and others, much-needed grace. See things from eternity's perspective. Learn to abide in Me by receiving love and grace and mercy each day. For My mercies are new every morning. I am faithful to My word. I am faithful to you.

Colossians 3:12-14 Living Bible (TLB)

12 Since you have been chosen by God who has given you this new kind of life, and because of his deep love and concern for you, you should practice tenderhearted mercy and kindness to others. Don’t worry about making a good impression on them, but be ready to suffer quietly and patiently. 13 Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Most of all, let love guide your life, for then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony.

Lamentations 3:19-24 The Message (MSG)

19-21 I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—the feeling of hitting the bottom.

But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope:

22-24 God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.
