OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

There is nothing wrong with traditions. They are a way to remember. I established feasts and festivals in Israel for this express purpose. However, they were established to honor and worship Me. These past traditions were all pointing to the future reality of releasing My new wine in the earth and establishing My Kingdom.

The reality is that the Kingdom is within every believer. This was a major paradigm shift--the Spirit of the living God being housed in human vessels! Because of the hardness of their hearts, the pharisees and sadducees could not accept this new reality. Therefore, pray for those bound to religion and the traditions of man, for I love them and died for their freedom, too!

Luke 5:36-39 Living Bible (TLB)

36 Then Jesus used this illustration: “No one tears off a piece of a new garment to make a patch for an old one. Not only will the new garment be ruined, but the old garment will look worse with a new patch on it! 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, for the new wine bursts the old skins, ruining the skins and spilling the wine. 38 New wine must be put into new wineskins. 39 But no one after drinking the old wine seems to want the fresh and the new. ‘The old ways are best,’ they say.”

Mark 10:17-22 Living Bible (TLB)

17 As he was starting out on a trip, a man came running to him and knelt down and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to get to heaven?”

18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good! 19 But as for your question—you know the commandments: don’t kill, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t cheat, respect your father and mother.”

20 “Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve never once broken a single one of those laws.”

21 Jesus felt genuine love for this man as he looked at him. “You lack only one thing,” he told him; “go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor—and you shall have treasure in heaven—and come, follow me.”

22 Then the man’s face fell, and he went sadly away, for he was very rich.
