Many do not realize what their gifts are because they have a limited view of My gifts. For My gifts come in many forms. Some operate in the context of the church, but most operate in the context of the world. Did not Lydia spin and sell beautiful purple garments? And Paul a tentmaker? And Jesus a carpenter? And did I not also say that those that minister to the poor, hungry, prisoner and outcast have ministered to Me?
Why then do you limit your thinking to gifts that only pertain to a few? For all are called to display My glory and manifest My grace and My goodness. So whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord. When you serve others, whether My church or the lost, you are serving Me.
These are your gifts because I am the Gift in you. Therefore, I say to you again, freely you have received, freely give and your joy will be made complete. For when you use your gifts joyfully, you are fulfilling your call and destiny.
Romans 12:6-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6 Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them: [He whose gift is] prophecy, [let him prophesy] according to the proportion of his faith;
7 [He whose gift is] practical service, let him give himself to serving; he who teaches, to his teaching;
8 He who exhorts (encourages), to his exhortation; he who contributes, let him do it in simplicity and liberality; he who gives aid and superintends, with zeal and singleness of mind; he who does acts of mercy, with genuine cheerfulness and joyful eagerness.
