My Son tied on the servant's apron to wash the disciples’ feet, and so must you. For anytime you want to exalt yourself, you are operating in a spirit of pride. Did not Lucifer want to exalt himself above Me and My throne? Most of My children do not struggle with following manmade idols, but are tempted to worship their own ideas about Me and My ways. This is the flesh wanting to exalt itself, but it must be crucified. For you must not have any other gods before Me.
My Kingdom is one that is opposite to the world's system. Therefore, learn to serve with joy and gladness, knowing that I reward those who follow their King through humble and obedient service. Do not seek the rewards of this world and what it has to offer, but seek the true spiritual rewards which last forever. Offer your life on the altar again and submit to the Father of lights. This is where you will find true life, joy and peace, which is the fruit of righteous living.
John 13:12-17 New International Version (NIV)
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
1 Peter 5:5 New International Version (NIV)
In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
