PRISONER OF CIRCUMSTANCES

You may feel like a prisoner of circumstances. Things have happened that are beyond your control. You are confused and disillusioned because you thought things would change. You thought things would happen sooner. Now you have lost hope.

Do you not realize that I am still in control? I have not forgotten you, nor the promises that I have spoken over your life. When the enemy comes in like a flood, that is when I raise up a standard against him. For you are Mine, and I am not unaware of the devices that he has planned against My elect.

What the enemy has meant for evil I will most certainly turn around for your good. Consider Joseph who was sold into slavery and then thrown into prison. Did I not give him favor even in the midst of dire circumstances? Did I not save My people through him? Consider Daniel and his companions who were taken into captivity. Did I not exalt Myself before the king by revealing the mystery of his dreams through My servant?

Both Daniel and Joseph determined to trust Me even in their unfavorable circumstances. They accepted what they could not control, knowing that they could serve Me wherever they were. So you too must yield to the process when you cannot see what lies ahead and it looks like all is lost. For your times are still in My hands. I know the end from the beginning. I have everything under control. My grace is available to see you through, so come boldly to My throne and I will supply all that you have need of.

Daniel 2:46-47 The Message (MSG)

46-47 When Daniel finished, King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face in awe before Daniel. He ordered the offering of sacrifices and burning of incense in Daniel’s honor. He said to Daniel, “Your God is beyond question the God of all gods, the Master of all kings. And he solves all mysteries, I know, because you’ve solved this mystery.”

Psalm 105:17-19 New Life Version (NLV)

17 He sent a man, Joseph, before them who was sold as a servant. 18 They hurt his feet with chains. He was put in irons, 19 until what he had said would happen came to pass. The Word of the Lord tested him.
