PASSION

You are created to burn with desire for the One who created you. For I have put My burning heart within you as a guiding light. Like a firefly is attracted to light, your heart will always be drawn back to the light. For you were created in My image, to represent My heart of love to the world around you. I am passionate about everything I do. Therefore, serve Me with passion and excellence. Spend time with Me and I will set your heart on fire. Do not let your heart grow cold and lifeless, for as I have said to the church of Laodicea, it is better to be hot or cold than lukewarm. Stir yourself up and encourage yourself in the Lord. Just as a natural fire needs to be tended, you must stir up the embers of your heart by filling your spirit with those things that produce life. Take an inventory and see if what you are watching and listening to is life-giving or producing fear, anxiety and negativity. Turn your eyes once again to your Maker. Return to your first love and you will burn bright as the stars for Me, your magnificent King. Matthew 22:37-40 The Message (MSG) 37-40 Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.” Luke 24:28-32 New Living Translation (NLT) 28 By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, 29 but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them. 30 As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. 31 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! 32 They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?”
