I can be trusted with your heart. I am always close by. I won't keep you at an arms length. I won't act like I don't know you when you fail. I am not a fair-weather friend.
I will discipline and correct because of My love for you. Even My Son had to learn the ways of obedience when He walked the earth. He delighted to do My will. This did not mean it was an easy path, but rather He chose obedience because He trusted Me completely.
True friendship means you trust yourself to the other, understanding their heart is towards you. Do you believe this about Me? If so, obedience becomes second-nature. No longer withhold your heart from Me, My beloved. For I do know what is best for you. I know the end from the beginning. Whatever you are going through, you can rest assured, I will not abandon you. Yes, others have. That is the way of man, but I am not a man that I should lie. Therefore, trust Me and give Me your heart completely.
Exodus 33:11 New International Version (NIV)
The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
Proverbs 17:17 The Message (MSG)
Friends love through all kinds of weather, and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.
Proverbs 18:24 New International Version (NIV)
One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
John 15:15 Living Bible (TLB)
I no longer call you slaves, for a master doesn’t confide in his slaves; now you are my friends, proved by the fact that I have told you everything the Father told me.
James 2:22-23 Living Bible (TLB)
22 You see, he was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever God told him to; his faith was made complete by what he did—by his actions, his good deeds. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say, that Abraham trusted God, and the Lord declared him good in God’s sight, and he was even called “the friend of God.”
