When you were a child, you used to play a game called “Simon Says”. You learned to copy the behavior of another through an innocent game. Likewise, I want you to do what I say. Completely trust Me, My words, and My ways. A child cannot possibly understand all that they are told to do. They learn what to do by watching their parents and caregivers.
What kind of example are you to those that are watching? Are you imitating Me so that others can follow? Or are you making excuses for your behavior? For surely a tree is known by its fruit.
There is a time and a season for everything. There is a time for healing so that not only your behavior but your heart is also changed. I want you to be walking in wholeness...body, soul and spirit. Look to others that are farther along in the journey and imitate them as they imitate Christ. Imitate those that are walking in love, truth and humility.
Matthew 12:33 The Passion Translation (TPT)
You must determine if a tree is good or rotten. You can recognize good trees by their delicious fruit. But if you find rotten fruit, you can be certain that the tree is rotten. The fruit defines the tree.
Ephesians 5:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
1 Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; 2 and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.
Hebrews 13:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Remember your leaders [for it was they] who brought you the word of God; and consider the result of their conduct [the outcome of their godly lives], and imitate their faith [their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider of eternal salvation through Christ, and imitate their reliance on God with absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].
