I know that You love Me, although your love is still immature. Do not be discouraged, because I am the only One who can perfect love in you. It is My perfect love that casts out fear! Each step of your journey is designed not only to get you to a destination, but to go through a refining process. All of the baggage that you have brought with you must be laid down at the Cross. Then you will become more like your Master. Then you can be trusted with more authority to lead others.
Do not become disheartened, for all must go through this process. All of My disciples are being sifted in this hour. There will be many that fall away when they realize the cost of true discipleship. It is only by My grace that you can stand. Do not be discouraged when you find that you cannot do this on your own. Rest in My grace. Abide in My love. I will never leave you or forsake you. I am with you always.
John 21:17-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me [with a deep, personal affection for Me, as for a close friend]?” Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, “Do you [really] love Me [with a deep, personal affection, as for a close friend]?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You [with a deep, personal affection, as for a close friend].” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
18 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and walked wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and arms, and someone else will dress you, and carry you where you do not wish to go.” 19 Now He said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. And after saying this, He said to him, “Follow Me [walk the same path of life that I have walked]!”
Psalm 32:8-9 The Passion Translation (TPT)
8–9 I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!”
