DO YOU REALLY LOVE ME?

Writer's picture: Bev CooperBev Cooper

Don't you enjoy it when your child believes the best of you and wants to obey you? When they disobey and are truly sorry because they didn't trust you? When they recognize their own rebellion?

For when you fully grasp the Father's love for you, then you will shudder at the thought of bringing displeasure or dishonor to Him. Your one desire will be to glorify Him in everything you say and do. You will no longer care about yourself, because His pleasure is all that consumes you. When you have a deep abiding love of the Father, you begin to lose sense of yourself, and any carnal desires because everything pales in comparison to His great love.

Therefore, give up your rights. Give up on the self-life. Have courage and take down the giant once and for all. The victory is yours for I have purchased it for you! Come a little closer, and taste and see that the Lord is good! My love is the answer to everything you will ever need.

John 14:23-24 Amplified Bible (AMP)

23 Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

24 Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me.

1 John 3:1-3 Living Bible (TLB)

1 See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children—think of it—and we really are! But since most people don’t know God, naturally they don’t understand that we are his children. 2 Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is. 3 And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure.
