In My presence is fullness of joy. That is why Joshua lagged behind to remain in My presence. It is what gives you strength to face the battles of the day, whether it be menial tasks or something important. I am glad that you have chosen the better thing. You used to be a Martha, but now you are learning to become like Mary, and sit at My feet daily. It should always be this way, for I am your Master. What good does it do for you to strive without consulting Me first? I will help you prune your list of things to do if necessary.
Sometimes I just want to test your obedience. Obedience always leads to blessing. I have a better plan than anything the world can offer you. I offer peace, joy, and righteousness in My Kingdom. I offer eternal rewards that you would not believe even if I told you!
Each day ask Me how to spend your time. I may desire for you to minister just to Me. Are you willing to do that? Or I may need you to minister to another who is lonely or hurting. Never see others as an inconvenience, but rather as an offering to your King. I will provide all of the grace you need to see you through. Trust me in this.
Romans 14:17 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Luke 10:38-42 New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
38 Jesus and his disciples went on their way. Jesus came to a village where a woman named Martha lived. She welcomed him into her home. 39 She had a sister named Mary. Mary sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was busy with all the things that had to be done. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, my sister has left me to do the work by myself. Don’t you care? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered. “You are worried and upset about many things. 42 But few things are needed. Really, only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better. And it will not be taken away from her.”
