Contentment and gratitude are basic tools that you need in order to walk in peace. How can we walk in unity if you are always focusing on your circumstances or people? When you do this, you only delay the fulfillment of the promises that I have made to you. You must yield to Me in every area of your heart.
I am the One who gives you the grace to do the impossible. Yes, miracles are a wonderful feat, but having self-control is even more miraculous. Yielding your thoughts and emotions to Me is a process. Do not get caught up in guilt and condemnation. Instead, each time a negative thought or emotion pops up, take it captive. Use My Word to remind yourself, and your enemy, that you refuse to give in to anything that does not line up with the truth of My Word.
It is not hopeless. I will help you carry your cross. Continue to trust Me to help you. Keep your eyes on Me and not on others. Together, we will destroy the works of the enemy.
Philippians 4:11-12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. 12 I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need.
1 Timothy 6:6-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
6 But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God]. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so [it is clear that] we cannot take anything out of it, either.
