I am an extravagant God. Most of My people believe that being frugal is equivalent to holiness. However, you need to ponder My world. What is cheap about My world? Will you not be walking on streets of gold? For everything about My world exudes beauty unimaginable.
I love when you are extravagant in your worship. Look at the preparation that Esther underwent before she was presented to the King. Have you prepared your heart before coming before Me? Are you well-oiled by spending time in My Word, in prayer, and worshiping Me in spirit and in truth?
Do you pour your life and resources out extravagantly or are you stingy? Do you keep what is Mine for yourself or are you willing to give all for Me? I actually want you to prosper even as your soul prospers. Why? So that you can show the world My extravagant love. I always go over and above in My display of love. Many will say that it is a waste, but pouring your oil of love on Me through worship and your acts of kindness towards others is never a waste. Therefore, don't be stingy like the pharisees, but be extravagant, not only in your words, but in your actions. For when you do the Father is glorified.
Matthew 26:6-13 Living Bible (TLB)
6 Jesus now proceeded to Bethany, to the home of Simon the leper. 7 While he was eating, a woman came in with a bottle of very expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
8-9 The disciples were indignant. “What a waste of good money,” they said. “Why, she could have sold it for a fortune and given it to the poor.”
10 Jesus knew what they were thinking and said, “Why are you criticizing her? For she has done a good thing to me. 11 You will always have the poor among you, but you won’t always have me. 12 She has poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial. 13 And she will always be remembered for this deed. The story of what she has done will be told throughout the whole world, wherever the Good News is preached.”
Proverbs 11:24-25 Living Bible (TLB)
24-25 It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself.
