BASIC TRAINING

If one were to join any military branch, there would be basic requirements before you could even enlist. Aren't you glad that all who come into My army are accepted because of the blood of Jesus? None are turned away. However, once enlisted there are stringent requirements that must be maintained in order to serve.

For a soldier of the Cross, the first and most basic thing is knowing Me and My ways. This requires discipline on your part to make time to be with Me. How will you know My heart if you do not spend time with Me? Notice that Jesus' disciples spent time with Him doing the mundane as well as the miraculous. They did life together. Therefore, do not forsake to gather together with other soldiers.

You must spend time with those ahead of you and those that are behind you. Honor your leaders and bring joy to their heart by willing obedience. Always strive to grow closer to Me and learn from My Spirit. This takes daily discipline. You must study My word to be approved. It is your most important weapon against the enemy of your soul. For he seeks to deceive My elect at every turn.

Remember to help the wounded on the battlefield so that none are left behind. You once needed a helping hand. Bear each other's burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ, the law of love. For He left all to come and rescue you, My beloved. So fight well. Rescue the lost, for you have already gained the victory through Jesus Christ!

Luke 6:40 Amplified Bible (AMP)

A student is not superior to his teacher; but everyone, after he has been completely trained, will be like his teacher.

2 Timothy 2:14-15 Living Bible (TLB)

14 Remind your people of these great facts, and command them in the name of the Lord not to argue over unimportant things. Such arguments are confusing and useless and even harmful. 15 Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what his Word says and means.

Hebrews 10:22-25 The Message (MSG)

22-25 So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
