What makes you angry? Be honest with yourself. Be honest with Me. For when you try to pretend you are not angry, you are lying to yourself and to Me. Have I not said to be angry yet not sin? For there is a difference between righteous and unrighteous anger.
Examine the heart of the issue. Are you concerned with what you want or what I want? For your anger says a lot about you. When you are angry over injustices against something that is on My heart, that is righteous anger. When you feel anger at seeing the plight of those being abused or taken advantage of, that is righteous anger.
When someone offends you or annoys you and you become angry, that is unrighteous anger. For that is a test to see if you will yield to your flesh or submit to My Spirit. The former is also a test. What will you do when you see the plight of others that need justice? Will you be moved to compassion and act? Or will you remain indifferent?
Most of the things that you become angry over have little to do with My Kingdom but yours. Therefore, examine yourself in light of the truth of My Word. Let Me expose the dark places that need to be cleansed. Ask Me for grace to give up your rights and carry your cross, for unrighteous anger must be nailed to the cross. Allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse you. Allow My grace to flood you with light.
Ephesians 4:26-31 Living Bible (TLB)
26 If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly; 27 for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.
28 If anyone is stealing he must stop it and begin using those hands of his for honest work so he can give to others in need. 29 Don’t use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing.
30 Don’t cause the Holy Spirit sorrow by the way you live. Remember, he is the one who marks you to be present on that day when salvation from sin will be complete.
31 Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives.
Psalm 37:28 The Passion Translation (TPT)
The Lord loves it when he sees us walking in his justice. He will never desert his devoted lovers; they will be kept forever in his faithful care. But the descendants of the wicked will be banished.
